This Saturday, I was helping my dad installing his new work laptop. The old one was ready for the scrapheap (it's amazing how fast some laptops deteriorate in the physical sense … hinges, creaks, screen, etc).
My job was to transfer and customize his new laptop in the same manor I had done with the old […]

Lampan pajjade i projektorn.

Wouldn't you know it… Here I work to make sure that we avoid spambots on the comments by installing a (seemingly) good captcha system. Only to find that the version I installed had a bug that allowed for comments to be made without any captcha check at all.
Ohwell, no more!

Mark has investigated further into the issue and the newly released "patch/uninstaller" which is supposed to allow users to uninstall the DRM software. Only to find that it doesn’t work. It also appears that the software is phoning home to Sony. The reasons for this isn’t a big one, it’s about updating lyrics and album […]

Read an interesting entry on Mark’s blog on SysInternals. Apparently the latest and greatest DRM protection from Sony includes a rootkit (more or less) which installs hidden software on your computer which patches the system so certain processes, files and registry keys can be hidden from you. What’s even worse is the fact that the […]

After a long wait, the verdict has been passed. Filesharing is illegal. All it took was a screenshot from a computer running DC++ which downloaded a file from another user.
Yes, you heard me. A screenshot. The kind which is easily faked and/or modified without anyone knowing the difference. What’s even worse is that the time […]

Toyed around with a new logo which would adapt to most screen resolutions. Since the theme we’re using on the site adapts quite nicely to the current width of the browser, I thought it would be a shame to not have a logo which did the same.
And after some experimenting with PNG’s and a whole […]
