Saturday morning I popped the nutrients bag of the yeast container. Three hours later it had swollen to ten times its size, and was ready for mixing with my starter wort (1 dl of malt extract into 1 liter of water). A couple of hours later the starter mix was emitting CO2
and the wonderful bready smell of fermenting beer could be noticed.
